i’m kinda like a hgtv wannabe
Listen, what creative person isn’t obsessed with their surroundings? My husband regularly catches me staring at a wall with a perplexed face and he just responds, “okay…what are we changing?”
So right after we had our son, we naturally just wanted to shake things up even more. Well, I did anyway. I found this house with so much potential.
It was my birthday, my hubby and taken me and our 4 month old to the mountains and a huge snowstorm rolled through. There we were cuddled up next to the small heater in this A-frame rental. He was reading a dirtbike magazine and I was whipping up a pitch deck for General Contractors to have an accurate idea of what I wanted to do and how much it would cost.
It must have been the birthday guilt, because Evan said “okay, fine.” We got to work.
We got a renovation loan (highly recommend) so we could demo and redo the whole house at once, and the bank checked in regularly to give the GC the next installment.
We didn’t use a designer but in hindsight, I totally wish we had for things like scale and layout. A blank slate can be intimidating! A few rooms just really sold me.. I mean look at that LIGHT!
I won’t hold out on you for the after photos. I am so damn proud. I can say that now, as we’ve been living in it for 2 years.
